What matters right now?

There is so much fighting for my attention right now. Maybe you feel similar? How do I cut through the noise and focus on what matters?

I do a little exercise when I get stuck and overwhelmed:

  • I start with stating what I know to be true, what I believe and will continue to fight for. We are all of value. Every human has intrinsic value. To our selves, to the universe, to society.

  • Then I think, what do humans need? And I list the needs they have: to be loved, to love, to be healthy, to dream and be creative, to have choice. These are just some of them.

  • Next, I think about what do I have control over, what is the best use of my time and sacred energy? How can I help-myself, my loved ones, my community.

  • Lastly, I decide what I’m going to do next and release the rest. For another day and time.
